Description

Drill Bits:

Engineered for speed and built to survive.

Nothing is more important to drilling success than drill bits that cut straight and fast through all types of rock. That's why we offer our customers the best value in drill bits in a full range of face designs, button configurations and shank styles in many sizes up to a 20" head, to match the application and rock they are drilling in.

Drill Bit Face Styles

The all-purpose Concave CC, for soft to medium hard formations, straight holes, excellent flushing and fast penetration rates.

Flat Face FF design for medium hard to hard formations, good flushing and good penetration rates.

Convex CX design with double gauge row for medium to hard and abrasive formations, good flushing and good penetration rates.

Concave/Convex CC/CX the best of both worlds with double gauge row and concave center for medium to hard and abrasive formations, straight holes, excellent flushing and excellent penetration rates.

Choose your quantity, grade, shape, and diameter size of carbide or diamond installed on face and gauge of all face designs of bits to match your specific needs:

  • Standard grade(spherical shape) in 5/8” and ¾” diameter for soft to medium hard formations.
  • Standard grade (ballistic or semi ballistic shape) in 5/8” and ¾” diameter for soft to medium hardness formations.
  • ToughGrade™/XT carbide buttons (spherical shape) in 5/8” and ¾” diameter for medium to hard and abrasive formations.
  • Diamond button (spherical shape) in 5/8” and ¾” diameter for hard and abrasive formations to achieve the most footage on the button, to get you to touchdown, and to save time and money by not having to trip out of the hole and resharpen.
  • Optional fishing/retrieval threads machined on shoulder of bit in case bit would shank. Standard on oil/gas bits.

Patented Bit Retention System:

Broken bits are a fact of life in the drilling business. Fishing or retrieving them with standard fishing/retrieval bits to save the hole often fails, while adding time and cost to the job. Patented retention system helps eliminate all this.

Each specially designed retention bit has a machined retention shoulder. The bit functions in the same way as a conventional bit in the drilling mode or blow/flushing mode. However, if the bit shanks in any portion above the head of the bit--the most common section for breakage to occur--the head of the bit is held in the retention system and not lost down the hole. This effectively eliminates the need for fishing and the associated waste of time and money. All you do is trip out of the hole, break loose the chuck from the hammer, and remove the broken shank and head of the bit from the system. Replace it with another patented retainer bit and you’re ready to go down the hole and start drilling again.

Different shank sizes and shank styles and head sizes are available with our system. While we prefer you use our hammers, we can custom fit patented bit retention system on other brands of hammers.

Winged Reaming System:

Cut through unstable rock formations at any angle.

The system's unique cam design extends its bit wings for smooth,
uniform drilling through unstable rock formations.

The CRI Winged Reaming System is a three-winged overburden under-reaming system attached to a DTH hammer capable of simultaneously advancing the casing through collapsing overburden formations, boulders and rock as the drilling progresses. A unique cam design operates the wings and allows for full cutting diameter when extended, and easily retracts to pass inside the casing. The system includes a guide device with different shank styles to attach to the DTH hammer, a pilot bit for full face cutting, and three carbide buttoned wings to cut and open a larger diameter hole than the casing diameter. The wings extend and retract through access ports machined on the side of the pilot bit. The bit wings are easily replaced and are interchangeable. The pilot bit and bit wings are held in position on the guide device with a keeper key, roll pin, and plug.

The Winged Reaming System is ideal for water well, geothermal, oil and gas, construction, foundation, piling, fore piling/horizontal, anchor holes and other applications where simultaneous casing advancement is needed.
